For Aquivio’s smart hydration station, my goal was to design an intuitive, frictionless experience that works seamlessly in a physical, self-service environment.
The machine is used in hotels, gyms, and offices — environments where users interact briefly and expect clarity.
This required:
Large touch targets
Clear visual hierarchy
Minimal cognitive load
Fast, confident decision-making
The core challenge was balancing simplicity and flexibility:
Allow users to quickly select from prebuilt functional drinks
While also giving them full control to build their own personalized hydration mix
Throughout the customization flow:
A persistent summary displays selected ingredients and intensity levels
Visual feedback updates in real time
Users can easily modify or remove any ingredient at any step
